Our pupils have recently started attending weekly boxing sessions at the Brian Rose Boxing Gym, led by experienced school boxing coach Dan Coyle. These sessions form part of our commitment to providing engaging, practical opportunities that support both physical development and personal growth.

The sessions take place in a professional boxing environment and give pupils the opportunity to develop key boxing skills such as footwork, balance, coordination and controlled movement. Under Dan’s guidance, pupils are learning the importance of discipline, focus and respect – values that are central to both boxing and everyday life.

These sessions also contribute towards pupils working towards their PE qualification, allowing them to develop their physical fitness, technique and understanding of training routines in a structured and supportive setting.

In addition, the programme supports pupils completing the physical section of their Duke of Edinburgh Award, helping them build resilience, commitment and perseverance through regular physical activity.

The impact has already been very positive. Pupils are showing increased confidence, improved fitness and excellent engagement in sessions. Many are discovering a new passion for sport and enjoying the opportunity to train in a real gym environment.

We are very grateful to Brian Rose Boxing Gym and coach Dan Coyle for supporting our pupils and helping provide such a motivating and inspiring experience.

We look forward to seeing our pupils continue to develop their skills and confidence over the coming weeks.
